In the recent clash between Rwanda and Nigeria, the match ended in a 0-0 draw as the Super Eagles were unable to secure a win in their second AFCON qualifier game on Tuesday.
Augustine Eguaveon’s squad had started their AFCON qualifying campaign with an impressive 3-0 victory over Benin Republic, but they couldn't maintain that momentum in Kigali against Rwanda.
Despite several close chances, including a shot from Victor Boniface that hit the woodwork in the first half, Nigeria was unable to find the back of the net. The Super Eagles thought they had scored in the 23rd minute when Ademola Lookman, a Ballon d’Or contender, scored off a flicked header from a throw-in. However, the goal was disallowed by the referee.
